Title: Thread Roller Setup Operator

Hourly: Full Time/Non-Exempt

Shift: Both 1st (6a-4p) and 2nd (4p-2a) available

Overtime possible but not guaranteed

Position Summary:
Responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring thread roll machines to produce metal fasteners that meet precise dimensional and quality specifications. This role ensures efficient machine operation, timely production output, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate thread roll machines used in the cold-forming process of manufacturing fasteners
  • Read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, or job travelers to determine machine settings and part specifications
  • Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Monitor machine operation, identify issues, and perform basic troubleshooting to maintain production flow
  • Make necessary adjustments to tooling or machine parameters to maintain part quality and minimize scrap
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and tool changes
  • Document production output, downtime, and quality checks accurately and in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all company safety rules and protocols including Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles
  • Moves parts from shop floor to weigh scale
  • Records SPC and completes check sheets in ERP system
  • Records production in ERP system
  • Perform basic tool changes without assistance
  • Follows all safety and operating rules, guidelines and applicable work instructions

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience operating thread roll or cold-forming machines in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in rivet or fastener production strongly preferred
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed to support production demands and business needs

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and industrial lubricants
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Title: 2nd Shift Supervisor
Department: Production
Reports To: Plant Manager
Shift: 2nd Shift
Location: Madison Heights, MICHIGAN
Benefits: Available after 60 days on the 1st of the Month

This is an hourly non-exempt position, overtime possible but not guaranteed.

Position Summary:
The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations across multiple departments during second shift, including Screw Machines, Cold Headers, Thread Rollers, Chuck Systems, Hydromats, and Wash Machines. This role ensures production targets, safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently met while supporting machine setup, troubleshooting, and workforce coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate second shift production activities across all departments
  • Follow and execute the daily production schedule to ensure on-time completion of work orders
  • Coordinate with shipping to ensure proper staging of finished goods to meet shipping schedules
  • Ensure second shift operations are staged appropriately to support shipping and next-shift priorities
  • Set 1st shift up for success by maintaining organization and clearly reporting any unresolved issues or work status updates to incoming leadership
  • Enforce and promote workplace safety policies, procedures, and OSHA compliance
  • Lead by example in maintaining a strong safety culture and addressing hazards immediately
  • Assist with machine setups, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting/repairs as needed
  • Coordinate with maintenance team for complex equipment issues and downtime reduction
  • Train, coach, and support operators to improve performance and skill development
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate priorities clearly
  • Ensure quality standards are met and participate in quality control efforts and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate production, downtime, and labor records
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving efforts
  • Perform end-of-shift facility checks and ensure the plant is properly secured and locked in accordance with company procedures during shift gaps

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience required
  • Working knowledge of multi-spindle screw machines, cold headers, thread rollers, hydromats, or similar equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to assist in setups and minor repairs
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/engineering prints (plans)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed to support production demands
  • Crane and Hilo experience required
